Scholarship Affair

The Touch of KLASS
(Kappa League All Star Scholars) Scholarship Affair is an
annual event that recognizes the accomplishments of the young men
of the Fraternity's Kappa League youth program and the recipients of the
Foundation's scholarships. The black-tie banquet affair was created in 1989
by the Southfield Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Three high school
students received $500 scholarships at the first event.
Now sponsored by the Southfield Kappa
Foundation and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, the event has grown to become
one of the premier events in the metropolitan Detroit area recognizing the
accomplishments of young people. Over the past 14 years over $275,000 has been awarded to more than 200 students who have gone on to attend
colleges and universities across the nation. These accomplishments would not have been
possible without the generous and continuing support of our corporate and individual
sponsors. Some of the many community-minded companies that have contributed to
the success of the Touch of KLASS include: Ameritech, AutoAlliance International,
Compuware, Comerica Bank, General Motors, IBM Corporation, Specialized Services, Inc., MASCO Corporation,
S.E.T. Enterprises and United Parcel Service.
