The Princeton Review

This general education site provides a wealth of information.  You can search for specific school programs, financial aid, apply to over 700 colleges and universities online, find test prep material, and take SAT and ACT practice tests online.

Gateways to US Government Grants/money

"Student gateway to the U.S. Government".  Free site provides scholarship and grant opportunities offered by federal governmental agencies.  Valuable links to non-governmental scholarships are provided also.  Very worthwhile site for high school seniors, undergraduates and those seeking graduate school funding.

Tips & Resources for Parents and Students

Hope Scholarships & Lifetime Credits

On August 5, 1997  both the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 and the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 were enacted. The Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 provides for the HOPE Scholarship and Lifetime Learning Credits and opens the doors of college to a new generation, with the largest investment in higher education since the G.I. College Test Preparation                           

PSAT

The Preliminary SAT®/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a co-sponsored program by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).  The test is usually taken in the 10th or 11th grade.  Students must register for the exam through their high school consulor.  The registration fee for the test is about $10.The test will allow students to participate in the Student Search Service® to get mail from colleges as well as enter the student in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Free scholarship search engine sponsored by the United Negro College Fund.  Many scholarships can use used at any institution while some must be used at historically Black universities and colleges.

Database search of private scholarships.  This site is connected to the College Connection.com site which charges $39.95 to search and apply to the scholarship sources. 

Broke Scholar

BrokeScholar is a free scholarship search engine connecting students and parents with financial aid and college scholarships. The BrokeScholar database matches student profiles with more than 900,000 scholarships worth over $3 billion to find the most relevant and obtainable opportunities. Find applicable scholarships, automatically create application letters, view a personalized deadline calendar or locate scholarships using a keyword search feature.

FastWeb Search Engine

Free search scholarship search engine.  Applicants fill out an online profile.  Database matches scholarships to your profile and provides you with a list of scholarships.  It takes about 15-20 minutes.

FASTaid Scholarship Search Engine 

Considered one of the best scholarship search engines on the internet. Free site.

MeritMoney.com  

Searchable database providing information on which schools are providing scholarships based on GPA, test scores, etc. Not free. Cost $39.00 for six month subscription.  Database includes 1,100+ colleges.  Other search engines focus on private scholarship sources. MeritMoney.com provides information on scholarships offered by the schools themselves.

College Funds.Net

Scholarship search service. Cost $39.95.  You fill out online application, they send you a "scholarship book" with (they say) 20-50 scholarships your profile matches.  Along with the "book", you receive letters ready to send to the scholarship sources.

College Board Scholarship Search

Locate scholarships, loans, internships, and other financial aid programs from non-college sources that match your education level, talents, and background. Complete the online questionnaire and Scholarship Search will find potential opportunities from a database of more than 2,300 undergraduate scholarships, internships, and loan programs

College Net's Scholarship Database

The Mach25 database contains over 600,000 awards totaling over $1.6 billion. Keyword Search gives you a quick way to narrow down to a particular scholarship or group of scholarships. Want to see awards related to 'soccer'? Enter your keyword here, press search, and whammo--you've found 'em!
